Composition: 1 g Mitex solution contains:
Miconazole nitrate …………… 23 mg
Prednisolone acetate ……… ..5 mg
Polyimixin B sulfate ……… 5500 UI in a suspension with Benzylbenzoaten
Properties and efficacy: Miconazole is a synthetic imidazole derivative pronounced antifungal and strong activity against Gram-positive bacteria.
Polyimixin B sulfate is an antibiotic with bactericidal effect against Gram-negative bacteria. its binding to the cell membrane. The combination exerts an increased activity against bacteria and fungi that are less sensitive to miconazole. Prednisolone is added for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Benzylbenzoate controls auricular rash and is recommended for treating areas with demodectic rash in dogs.
Indications: Mitex is indicated in otitis externa caused by fungi, bacteria and parasites in dogs and cats. Before applying
External otitis: Apply 3-5 drops to the ear 2 times / day and massage lightly to ensure even distribution.
Continue treatment without interruption for several days after the clinical signs have completely disappeared.
In chronic cases it may be necessary to continue the treatment for 2 or 3 weeks.
